Walk & Relay

You can choose to run or walk 5 km for the
DHL Relay. A team consists of 5 participants, regardless of whether it is a walking or running team.

When running a relay, each team member runs 5 km in turn.

Walk teams follow each other as a group on a 5 km route.

The walk and relay teams set out from two different starting areas in Fælledparken.

Start for the runners
Relay teams start close to the lake (at the northern end of Fælledparken)

Start for the walk teams
The walk teams start and finish towards Rigshospitalet (at the southern end of Fælledparken).

On both routes you’ll encounter entertainment, music and power zones for extra energy.

On the walk route you will pass a bar after 3 km where you can refuel with beer and water.

Timing in the app
Although the focus is on socializing and having a good time, there is of course timekeeping. You can easily see your time and position on the DHL Relay Copenhagen app: DHL Stafetten.

Baton

Each team gets one baton, which you must carry around to get your time. The baton is delivered by DHL together with your bib numbers approximately one week prior to your participation.

Walk teams carry the baton with them and the relay runners hand it to each other in the transition zone.

Remember to roll it correctly so that the chip does not break. See how to roll up the baton here.

It is important that the first runner (and one of the walk participants) brings the baton to the start and that you carry it with you for the whole/all laps, otherwise you will not get your time.

Waste sorting
The baton must be sorted as residual waste.
